Dental Implants
Implants are a long-term solution for tooth loss when one or more teeth need to be replaced. Titanium screws are surgically anchored to the jaw to hold a replacement tooth or a bridge in place. The screw is put in your alveolar bone, the unique piece of bone that supports all of your teeth. This bone can deteriorate when you have lost a tooth, but when you replace that tooth with an implant the bone adheres to the implant and aids in retaining the natural surrounding bone. This takes three to six months. On your final visit, the crown is attached to the screw, filling in the visible space between your teeth with an artificial tooth that matches the rest in color and proportion.
